We’re proud to share that our COO and co-founder, Claus Oustrup, will be speaking at the upcoming IPWEA International Public Works Conference during a panel session that couldn’t be more timely: the Smart Controls Panel Discussion, as part of the Street Lighting & Smart Controls (SLSC) Forum.
This session brings together leaders from Itron, Schréder, and Felicity to explore the real-world deployment of smart lighting controls, an area undergoing rapid transformation as new technologies and policy changes reshape expectations. With metering reform expected to formally recognise smart controls in the near future, the discussion comes at a pivotal moment for cities, councils, and infrastructure operators across Australia and New Zealand.
Claus will share insights drawn from Felicity’s work developing and deploying AI-driven lighting solutions that respond to real-time traffic conditions. At Felicity, we believe that lighting can be smarter, cleaner, and more responsive, and we’re proving it through technologies like PowerAID™, our patented dynamic dimming platform. Already, PowerAID™ is helping cities reduce energy consumption, emissions, and light pollution by up to 40%, while enhancing road safety and user experience.
As a panelist, Claus will speak to both the opportunities of implementing these solutions at scale, how intelligent infrastructure can be rolled out in a way that’s not only technologically sound but also practical, measurable, and future-proof. It’s a chance to hear firsthand how Felicity and our partners are working with local governments to deliver meaningful change on the ground.
We see this panel as more than a technical discussion, it’s a conversation about how infrastructure evolves, how data can drive smarter decisions, and how collaboration across the sector is critical to success. Following the discussion, the panel will open to questions from the audience, offering a rare opportunity for attendees to engage directly with the people shaping the next phase of smart public lighting.
If you’re attending IPWEA, we encourage you to join the session and hear Claus and the other experts share their views on what’s next for smart lighting. It’s a conversation we’re excited to be part of and one that’s essential to building brighter, more sustainable communities.
